2021 on Obi Veterinary Education

When launching Obi Veterinary Education in January of this year, we weren’t sure what to expect. Our goal was simple: to elevate the experience of veterinary continuing education to match the improvements seen in other professions via incredible platforms such as Duolingo, LinkedIn Learning, and Coursera, among others. 

But our method was different than anything vets were used to. We were dedicated to crafting a microlearning experience by breaking down comprehensive education into digestible chunks. By now, we hope you have found the quick lessons to be useful as a resource at work, while studying, or a new way to complete your annual continuing education requirements.

We are proud to share some of our accomplishments in our first year. In addition to the CE recorded and thousands of video lessons consumed – what makes us most proud are the ways we are directly improving veterinary medicine:

Free Resources – We are committed to provided free resources to all veterinarians and will continue to provide free memberships to veterinary students in 2022.

Global Connection – Resources on Obi helped improve the standard of care that veterinarians can provide in 18 countries. As our community grows, we are excited to educate and empower the world’s veterinarians one 5-minute lesson at a time.

Social Responsibility – In order to be a force for good in the industry, we are committed to supporting social causes along three important pillars: mental health, education & research, and environment & climate change. In our first year, we are proud to support three organizations making a difference in those areas:

1. Not One More Vet who are providing the necessary support to all members of veterinary teams and students who are struggling or considering suicide.
2. Black Girls Code who are educating and closing the opportunity gap in tech for Black women and girls. 
3. Wildlife Conservation Society of Canada whose mission is to save wildlife and wild places worldwide through science, conservation action, education, and inspiring people to value nature.
